State Adviser on Multinational, Multicultural and Religious Affairs, Academician Kamal Abdulla, Chair of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pasazade have met Director General for Political Affairs in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Anna-Karin Eneström.
Anna-Karin Eneström highlighted directions of Swedish foreign policy.
She stressed the importance of a conference on "Multiculturalism and religious tolerance: Azerbaijan`s experience and its importance for Europe" held in Stockholm. The Director General underlined representing of various nations in Swedish society, adding both countries would closely cooperate in this field.
The Director General spoke of security problems existed across the world, saying "Sweden prefer dialogue method in solving the problems. Anna-Karin Eneström expressed her country`s keenness to cooperate with Azerbaijan in relevant issues.
Kamal Abdulla stressed the importance of meeting, saying State of Azerbaijan was interested in further developing ties with Sweden.
Kamal Abdulla said Azerbaijan attached great importance to bilateral beneficial cooperation with the international organizations, adding democracy, multiculturalism and human rights lie at the heart of the country.
The State Advisor highlighted cause and consequences of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "OSCE Minsk Group`s mediate activity in peacefully settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has not yielded results." The State Advisor also highlighted the resolutions adopted by the international organizations including the UN Security Council on unconditional immediate withdrawal of Armenian Armed Forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied territories.
Chair of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pasazade provided an insight into religious, cultural freedoms in Azerbaijan.
"Representatives of various confessions equally lived in Azerbaijan over the centuries," The Chairman said.
