“Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism” international forum kicks off in Guba

An international forum titled “Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism” kicked off in the country’s Guba city.

The event to run through July 16-20 is attended by 30 representatives from 11 foreign countries and local youth organizations.

Supported by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the forum is held under the motto “One society – different cultures” with a challenge “Active social participation of youth in multicultural communities”.

The forum will feature a plenary part and 4 panels to debate establishment of youth cooperation networks, book publishing and distribution, and large-profile PR activity.

Forum’s opening ceremony was attended by local youth, the regional officials, Members of Parliament and public figures.

Speakers noted the tolerance environment and intercultural dialogue in Azerbaijan. As a matter of fact, they stressed permanent care and respect for minorities in the country.

The participants will adopt a Declaration envisaging enlightenment, exchange of experience and information.

The Forum participants will also meet with the representatives of national and ethink communities.
